Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you’re a client looking for the right assistant or a candidate interested in our open roles, we know the hiring process comes with questions. Below, you’ll find answers to the most common ones we hear.
For Clients
The final placement fee is 30% of the salary you and your candidate agree to; we confirm the exact fee once final compensation is set after the offer stage.
We collect a 25% deposit based on the estimated salary after your consultation, with the remaining balance due on your new hire’s start date. The minimum fee is $8,000, including part-time placements. Every placement includes a year of coaching.
We recruit executive assistants across all industries in the United States. Most of our placements have been in Accounting and Finance, Higher Education, Entrepreneurial Organizations, and Nonprofits—but we can support any industry in need of a strong support role.
Our recruiting and placement process moves from intake and role definition to onboarding, with a focused shortlist and steady communication so decisions stay simple.
Most placements move from search to accepted offer in a handful of weeks, with pace shaped by scope, market, and decision-making timelines.
We keep you updated, surface risks early, and adjust based on your feedback.
Clients typically only see 1-3 candidates. Our experience makes us effective at identifying fit early, and our process turns that judgment into a clear, efficient search.
If a hire resigns or is terminated within the guarantee window in your agreement, we will run a replacement search at no additional Connect fee. Documentation requirements and the guarantee window are specified in your agreement.
Our placement includes a year of coaching that focuses on soft skills and helps you and your assistant build a reliable working rhythm.
Expect practical tools, clear standards, and a feedback cadence that supports autonomy and longevity.
Choose full-service when you want us to run the search end-to-end; choose our executive assistant hiring guide when you need a proven process and tools while you manage the search.
If you upgrade from the complete guide to full-service, we apply the course cost toward your placement fee.
We place roles throughout the country, as well as hybrid and remote positions.
Yes! We have a referral partnership program and love teaming up with people who regularly interact with business leaders, visionaries, HR professionals, and busy individuals who need support. Our new client referral bonuses are up to $1,000 per connection that results in a successful placement.

For Candidates
We recruit for a range of pivotal support roles, including Executive Assistants, Administrative Assistants, Client Service Coordinators, Chiefs of Staff, Personal Assistants, and Family Assistants.
These roles are focused on helping leaders and teams run smoothly and are direct hires with our client.
We work with employers across many industries in the United States rather than focusing on just one niche. Many of our placements have been in Financial Services, Higher Education, Entrepreneurial Organizations, and Nonprofits.
All of the roles we recruit for are based in the United States. Each job posting will note the specific location requirements for that role.
No. Candidates never pay a fee to work with us.
There is no registration cost, and if you are placed in a position, you will be hired as a direct employee of that company and paid by the employer. This includes any trial period, and the employer is responsible for compensation throughout.
We do not guarantee job placement for candidates.
Our process is focused on finding the right fit for both the client and the candidate. We receive a high volume of applications and carefully review each one in relation to the specific needs of the roles we are filling. If your experience aligns with what a client is looking for, we will be in touch to discuss next steps.
We primarily recruit full time roles, with part time positions available from time to time.
When we are hiring for a part time role, it will be clearly noted on our job board. Like full time roles, part time positions are direct hires of the company and paid by the employer, including any trial period, which is also compensated by the employer.
After you apply, we review your background against the needs of a specific client and reach out if there’s potential alignment.
If your experience fits what the client is looking for, you may be invited to complete a brief email interview or screening call, followed by a Zoom interview. If we believe you could be a strong match, we’ll prepare a candidate report highlighting your experience and share it with the client to confirm if they’d like to meet you. If they move forward, we coordinate the interview, communicate next steps, and support you through the remainder of the process.
If you are placed through Connect Assistant Resource, you will be enrolled in our year long coaching program to support you as you step into your new role.
Led by experienced former assistants, this program offers guidance to help you understand your executive’s expectations, adapt to their workflow, and build strong habits early on. You will receive regular check ins, tailored support, and access to practical resources like tools, templates, and best practices to help you grow in your role and build a strong, long term partnership with your executive.
Yes. You can work with us for coaching even if you are not currently in our candidate pool or applying for a new role.
We offer a stand-alone executive assistant coaching service for assistants who want support in their current position, as well as leaders who want to get more out of the partnership they already have. You can learn more and get started here.
